Getting to Birchdale

The nearest airport is Halifax International , a three hour drive from Birchdale. There are several car rental companies at the airport and an airport shuttle to Yarmouth.

Ferries run from Portland and Bar Harbour, Maine, USA to Yarmouth which is one hour south-west of Birchdale and from St John, New Brunswick, Canada into Digby, an hour and fifteen minutes to the north.

It is also possible to do the whole trip by car, driving up the coast of the Bay of Fundy through New Brunswick and entering Nova Scotia near Truro.

Passport required. Please bear in mind that there have been recent changes in document requirements for border crossings. We recommend you check with authorities before travel.
